|4 Channel||N8 1U||4 x 631H2||500GB SATA||9508S WiFi Router||POE31004p (5 ports)|
|8 Channel||N8 1U||8 x 631H2||1TB SATA||9508S WiFi Router||POE31008p (9 ports)|
|16 Channel||N25||16 x 631H2||2TB SATA||2 x 9508S||2 x POE31008p|
Installation Scenario 1 - WiFi
This diagram shows a typical NVR system installation with WiFi Cameras. The Home / Internet Router also provides WiFi connectivity for the network. The 9508S provides dedicated WiFi connectivity only to the cameras so that the home WiFi network is not overloaded. The 9508S is configured as an AP ensuring all the devices are in the same IP network. The video is transmitted over the WiFi network. The PoE switch is not used in this scenario. The cameras are powered using the power adapters.
The NVR systems come with 9508S 3-in-1 WiFi Router which can operate in 3 different modes - Access-Point, Router or Repeater. The recommended mode for this installation is Access-Point (AP) mode. The 9508S comes preconfigured in AP mode and the cameras are already configured to connect via WiFi to the 9508S on power up. No additional configuration is necessary.
Installation Scenario 2 - PoE
This diagram shows a typical NVR system installation with PoE (Power over Ethernet) Cameras. The cameras are powered using the PoE switch and the Video is transmitted over the Ethernet cable. PoE switch provides power over the ethernet cable eliminating the need for powering the cameras using the power adapter. The 9508S WiFi Router is not used in this scenario. The WiFi adapter on the cameras is also disabled in this scenario.
Installation Scenario 3 - Hybrid
In this scenario, we have a mix & match of WiFi & PoE cameras. Some cameras are connected via WiFi and some are connected via PoE. In this scenario, both the 9508S WiFi router and the PoE switch are used as shown in the diagram.
Note: The cameras do not support using both WiFi & POE features at the same time. You cannot use WiFi for network connectivity and power the same camera with PoE. This configuration is not allowed. When the Ethernet cable is connected, the WiFi adapter is disabled on the camera automatically. When using the WiFi, the cameras can only be powered using the power adapter.
